I'm in a fight to the death
feeling like I'm holding my last breath
the deafening sound of destiny on my heels
There is a revelation just for you
on the inside
buried beneath the many stories
held captive by the past now healed.
Yet the flesh is strong
and I'm to blame because its only grown
according to what its been fed
even the stuff in my head
Sometimes I answer only to my own name
Forgetting that the
battle ensues
And I'm destined to
break down the hurt and shame
and replace them with a new image
A good thing.
Seeing myself differently
remarkably
speaking to the life inside of me
every beautiful day I have left
even until my last breath,
the one I was holding before,
simply my first in eternity.

Cheesy poems make the most sense
Decided to write a cheesy little poem... and lo, and behold... Revelation! LOL
My pen, oh my pen
where have you been?
Far, far, away?
Or right under my chin?
My search for words
has left me tired and sad
Seems like I've chosen to not write at all
rather than write really bad
But that is a fear
I've determined to overcome
because God wants to speak
and today, I'm the one.
So speak, Heavenly Father
from beginning to end
and in the sound of Your Voice
I shall find my pen.

Running the race
What does it mean to have talent but no endurance? To rush out of the gate in the lead, pressing toward the finish line, but because you didn’t pace yourself, you run out steam just short of your goal. And now, everyone who started out with you in the race, ends up surpassing you; finishing the race you all started together. You are forced to watch them reach their destiny as you lie exhausted and spent and having only accomplished half the journey. What make this an even harder pill to swallow is that YOU were the one who was touted and predicted to run the best race. You APPEARED to be in good shape but the truth is… you didn’t prepare or train the way you should have… and therefore you couldn’t maintain in the curves. (You gain access to the lead in the curves—not the straightaways!)
People perceived you as strong and the one to beat…and you bought into the hype of your own strength. And inevitably, that pride became your weakness. You sped through the parts of the race when you should have slowed down and therefore had to slow down in the places where you should have been pulling ahead.
Thank God that His strength is made perfect in our weakness. We can still finish! I can still finish.
